GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley welcomes Martha Lanaghen as the city’s new Director of Human Resources.
Lanaghen’s extensive professional background includes leading two startups and one non-profit organization through rapid growth, similar to what we are currently seeing in Greeley. Additionally, her roles of Chief People Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Vice President of Sales makes her uniquely qualified to engage with employees, enhance the work environment, and foster a culture where employees thrive and excel.
Lanaghen came to the city as Interim Director of Human Resources in December of 2023. Since that time, she has proven her ability to think strategically, lead a large and complex team, and drive process improvement in a dynamic environment.
As Director of Human Resources, Lanaghen will continue to lead the team responsible for talent management and employee engagement while overseeing HR policies and programs, developing city culture and employee engagement initiatives, and ensuring consistent implementation of policies and procedures across the organization.
“Martha’s expertise in leading diverse teams and processes will continue to strengthen our culture of inclusion and engagement, making our city an even more attractive place to work,” said City Manager Raymond Lee. “We are excited about the positive changes and innovation Martha will bring to our team and the wider community.”
Lanaghen received her Master of Business Administration from University of Denver and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Political Science from Colorado State University.
“I am thrilled to accept this new and exciting role,” said Lanaghen. “I look forward to the opportunity to lead leaders, leverage data to tell stories, drive process improvement, interact with internal and external customers, and contribute to the city leadership here at the City of Greeley.”
Lanaghen moved from Interim to the Director of Human Resources role on May 9, 2024.
