GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley welcomes Tyra Litzau
as the Finance Director responsible for the city’s $178 million operating
budget.
Litzau’s professional experience spans over twenty-six
years, with an extensive background in
internal controls, governmental transactions, and compliance with grants, laws, and regulations. Her experience includes roles
as Deputy Finance Director for Adams County and Audit Director in the
governmental audit practice of BDO USA.
Among her accomplishments, Litzau oversaw countywide
financial policies and procedures and the implementation of new accounting
standards for Adams County. Litzau also led key personnel and accounting
development in setting up the new Adams County Public Health Department. While
serving as Audit Director for ACM LLP (now BDO Alliance USA), Litzau received
the Woman to Watch Award for Emerging Leaders from the Colorado Society of
CPAs.
With the City of Greeley, Litzau will provide leadership
and coordination in the city’s administrative, business planning, accounting,
and budgeting efforts. She will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will
provide information regularly to the City Council, City Department Directors,
and the public.

undoubtedly be of tremendous value in moving our financial strategies forward.
I also want to thank Debbie Reid, who has served as our Interim Finance
Director since October. Her outstanding leadership and dedication have been
invaluable during this transitional period.”
Litzau received her Master’s in Professional Accounting
from Colorado State University’s Global Campus and her Bachelor of Science in
Accounting and Business Administration from Regis University. Additionally,
Litzau is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Colorado.
“I am excited about the opportunity to build upon the work
of our finance team and provide timely and meaningful financial reporting to
the leadership of the City and to the public,” said Litzau.
Litzau’s first day in her new role will be February 26.
