City of Greeley officials want community members to learn about the future of 16^th Street and share their feedback and comments at a special open house. 

The open house takes place from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10^th Ave. 

Officials started designing possible improvements and enhancements for the 16th Street corridor between 7^th and 11^th avenues and now want the public’s input on the possible designs. Officials anticipate construction in 2023.

The designs address 16^th Street challenges along the north edge of the University of Northern Colorado and the south edge of downtown including:  

• A lack of adequate support and facilities for different types of travel 
• Narrow sidewalks with no buffer between roads or buildings
• High vehicle travel speeds
• Additionally, the area’s visual design and landscaping are sparse and do not follow a consistent theme
