Learn About 16th Street Enhancement Project at Special Open House

City-Logo-for-News-Releases

City of Greeley officials want community members to learn about the future of 16th Street and share their feedback and comments at a special open house.

The open house takes place from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Ave.

Officials started designing possible improvements and enhancements for the 16th Street corridor between 7th and 11th avenues and now want the public’s input on the possible designs. Officials anticipate construction in 2023.

The designs address 16th Street challenges along the north edge of the University of Northern Colorado and the south edge of downtown including:

  • A lack of adequate support and facilities for different types of travel
  • Narrow sidewalks with no buffer between roads or buildings
  • High vehicle travel speeds
  • Additionally, the area’s visual design and landscaping are sparse and do not follow a consistent theme
