Neighborhood Improvement Grants Available
Greeley neighborhoods can apply for thousands of grant dollars to improve neighborhoods or even help fund block parties.
Neighborhood groups may now apply for the 2019 Neighborhood Improvement Grant program. Any Greeley neighborhood can submit an application for up to $5,000 in a calendar year — however only $4,000 remains available for this year.
These grants require support from a majority of neighborhood residents. Funds may be used for permanent capital improvement projects that benefit large neighborhood common areas. These projects cannot relate to development standards required of developers or homeowners. Examples of projects include walking paths, landscaping, playground equipment, handicap accessibility ramps, art pedestals, and more. Highly competitive applications include matching funds and volunteer support. Applications for Neighborhood Improvement Grants are accepted until November 15 and is considered on the merits of the application until funds are exhausted.
Neighborhood groups can also sponsor a clean-up party or block party this summer and apply for a small stipend to help defray some cost of food.
