The northbound lane of 35^th Avenue between 2^nd Street and C Street will close for daytime construction in order to repair a gas line.

The Atmos Energy repair work requires that stretch of road to close during daytime hours — 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — from March 11 to 19. Atmos Energy needs to complete the repairs ahead of the irrigation season.

During the closure, detour signs will director drivers to use 23^rd Avenue to avoid the construction. Although 35^th Avenue will remain open to southbound traffic, slower construction speed limits will go into effect during the roadwork.

These sorts of closures are necessary to ensure the safety of the workers performing the repairs and of drivers in the area.
