Ozomatli’s High Energy Concert Blends Urban and Latino Sounds at Greeley’s Union Colony Civic Center

350-Ozomatli-(1)

Grammy award-winning band, Ozomatli, brings their high-energy concert experience to Greeley’s Union Colony Civic Center at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29. With an eclectic sound featuring urban, Latino, and beyond, the group takes audiences around the world through the music of L.A.

 Musicians and Cultural Ambassadors

Starting out as both political activists and musicians in L.A., the original band formed in 1995, combining genres like hip hop, salsa, R&B, and Jamaican ragga, just to name a few. Their early albums “Street Signs” and “Embrace the Chaos” both secured Grammy award wins, with “Streets Signs” earning a Latin Grammy award as well. Now in their 27th year together, Ozomatli recently released their newest album, “Marching On.”

In 2006, the U.S. State Department invited Ozomatli to serve as cultural ambassadors on a series of government-sponsored international tours, playing to audiences around the world. The City of L.A. designated April 23 as “Ozomatli Day,” in recognition of the group’s contributions to the cultural life of the city.
