Poudre River Trail Section Reopens After Construction
Construction work on the Poudre River Trail finished early and the newly repaired section of trail reopened today, March 30.
In January, repair work completely closed the trail between 35th Avenue and Rover Run Dog Park, 5207 F St. With this section of trail reopened, officials encourage community members to use the trail for exercise while following Centers-for-Disease-Control-recommended precautions including physical distancing and the state’s Stay at Home Order.
Originally scheduled to re-open in mid-April, the project finished ahead of schedule. The construction work repaired sections of trail damaged by flooding during the last decade. In addition to repairing flood damage, construction crews worked to restore the streambank and establish native vegetation.
Greeley’s trail system provides the community opportunities to explore the outdoors and enjoy the benefits of fresh air, exercise, and a connection to nature. Please check www.greeleygov.com/naturalareas and www.poudretrail.org for up to date information about this project and Greeley’s trails.
