The City of Greeley Parks Division is hosting a block party for residents of the East Greeley neighborhood. The Summer Fun Block Party will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 on Balsam Avenue. The street will be closed between 24^th and 26^th streets from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Please plan alternate routes accordingly.

Activities will include yoga in the park, music, food vendors, demonstrations, giveaways, and more. Games for all ages will be available at the “Play on the Way” mobile recreation unit.  Interpreters in Spanish, Somali, Amharic, Swahili, and Oromo will be in attendance.

“We encourage all residents to come to this first big summer event and enjoy themselves” commented Lorena Fuentes Ibáñez, healthy neighborhood coordinator for the East Greeley Parks project. “We are bringing the fun to East Greeley so residents can enjoy their community while learning more about the upcoming park improvements.”

The event is an opportunity for residents to see the park design concepts for the East Greeley Parks project. Delta, Balsam, and East Memorial parks will be renovated to provide more opportunities for youth and families to play outdoors and close to home. In addition, the East Memorial Natural area will be developed as a new nature play park site. Park concepts were created based on residents’ comments and suggestions received during two previous events.
