The Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., welcomes Jim Curry in Concert with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO) for a John Denver tribute on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Tribute artist Jim Curry, whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie “Take Me Home: The John Denver Story” and an artist who has performed Denver’s music in sold out shows throughout the country and has emerged as today’s top performer of Denver’s vast legacy of multi-platinum hits.
Curry’s uncanny ability to mirror Denver’s voice and clean-cut look takes you back to the time when “Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” “Calypso” and “Annie’s Song” topped the charts. When popular music had the heartfelt message of caring for the earth and caring for each other.
The GPO is the oldest continually operated professional orchestra west of the Mississippi River and one of a few orchestras in the United States to reach the elite status for operating for over a century. Now in its 109th concert season, the GPO continues its quest for beautiful music, a hallmark of those who settled our area.
