Join a free presentation Feb. 23 to learn more about prominent African Americans of the Wild West.
University of Northern Colorado Professor George Junne will share stories of individuals from the era. His presentation will be at noon at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Street. It’s free and open to the public. No reservations required.
Junne's address will showcase a range of African Americans. From those known for extraordinary efforts to build community. To those notorious for lawlessness. And other interesting characters.
The lecture is part of the Greeley Historic Preservation Commission ongoing series.
Meet the Presenter
Professor Junne is coordinator of Africana Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. He does extensive work for the preservation of Dearfield. The well-known site in Colorado was an early 20th Century African American colony.
