Union Colony Civic Center to Reopen for Small Rental Events
In March 2020, the Union Colony Civic Center (UCCC) closed in response to COVID-19. Since then, the staff worked hard to prepare plans for reopening Monfort Concert Hall and Hensel Phelps Theatre for our community. City officials announce the UCCC will host several small ticketed performances beginning February 2021.
Interested customers must purchase tickets to these events online at ucstars.com or by phone, 970-356-5000. The theaters' capacity is based on Weld County's COVID-19 status, determined by the State of Colorado's dial and metrics. Based on the county's Orange Level status at the time of this release, officials will limit seating to 50 tickets per floor in a physically distanced layout that meets state guidelines. Each floor has designated entrances to minimize the congregation in the lobbies. The seating area will open at the same time as the lobby, 30 minutes before performance times. At the end of each performance, staff will dismiss the audience row by row to minimize congestion in the lobbies as attendees leave the venue.
A modification to ticket policies allow patrons who purchased tickets and begin experiencing symptoms to receive a full refund and remain at home to protect public health. Select UCCC rental events will have paid streaming options for patrons to enjoy shows in the comfort and safety of the home.
The UCCC will enforce statewide face-covering orders as long as those remain in effect. The current City of Greeley policy requires anyone entering a public building to wear a face-covering over their nose and mouth for admission into the facility and for the duration of their stay.
City officials are excited to take this first, small step to bring performers and patrons back to the UCCC. For information about renting the facility and the full COVID-19 UCCC Rental Action Plan, go to ucstars.com/contact/rental-information.
