- Fats, oils, and grease in sewer pipes cause sewer maintenance problems for property owners and the city. Never pour grease down your sink drain and try to use your garbage disposal less often.
- Keep out hazardous waste and poisons out of your plumbing system, such as automotive fluids paint, solvents, sealants, and thinners. Items like batteries, solvents, paints, pesticides and more can be dropped off at the Weld County Household Hazardous Waste Site at 1311 N. 17th Avenue. The site is open every Tuesday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The only thing you should ever flush down a toilet is human waste (urine and feces) and toilet paper. Here is a list of some of the things to keep out of the toilet:- cleaning wipes of any kind, even if it claims to be "flushable"
