PH07We can stop unused medications from getting into our water resources and reduce misuse by providing collection at secure, convenient sites and then properly disposing of the drugs as hazardous waste.

Flushing unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medications pollutes our water and unintentionally exposes people, fish, and other wildlife to the chemicals in these medications.  Many wastewater treatment plants are not currently equipped to remove these chemicals from wastewater that is eventually discharged into nearby waterways.
