Greeley's Water Future: Supply and Storage at Terry Ranch Online Meeting

Greeley city officials are currently considering a proposed underground water supply and storage project, the Terry Ranch project, to continue the city's legacy of investing in its water future.

Greeley's Water and Sewer leadership team invites the community to an informative conversation about the Terry Ranch project at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Join the online Zoom meeting at https://greeleygov.zoom.us/j/87661578272. City officials will give an overview of the project, followed by an open question and answer chat session with attendees. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the Terry Ranch webpage, greeleygov.com/terryranch

The Terry Ranch project could provide Greeley with 1.2 million acre-feet of water and associated storage to meet the needs of the city's growing population. It is being studied as a lower cost and more certain water supply project than other alternatives considered to date.

For the past 24 months, Greeley worked with numerous engineers and scientists to conduct extensive testing and analysis to prove the Terry Ranch project's viability and safety, including drilling additional wells and collecting comprehensive water quality data. To further its assessment, the city arranged a peer review of all data and findings by national experts in the field to ensure Greeley has validated information.

The peer-reviewed findings will become available for the community in early 2021 on the Terry Ranch website. Following a review of all the research and data, the Water and Sewer Board and Greeley City Council, with input from Greeley residents, will decide whether to move forward with the project.
