City of Greeley Permitting

Welcome to the City of Greeley’s permitting website. The purpose of this website is to provide contractors, residents and others a single place to access information regarding the permitting process for work or activities within City of Greeley public space, and also private property for land grading related activities. It is important to note that public space is often referred to also as Right of Way.

To facilitate the permitting process for the City of Greeley, the Public Works Department along with partner departments utilize eTrakit to electronically manage the application, approval and management of permits for activities and work within the Public Space. Additionally, and in an effort to document permitting standards, expectations and requirements, the City of Greeley created a single document called Permitting Requirements for Activities within Public Space and/or Land Grading Activities. It is important to note that as part of any permit application, a permit applicant will agree to and will be held to the standards and as such, we would recommend reading and understanding the document thoroughly.

IMPORTANT – All contractors who will be completing construction work within the public space are required to have a Business License and Contractors License. For more information on these, please visit the links below.

IMPORTANT – As all communication regarding permits is typically managed through our online portal, please check your email’s junk inbox to check for responses that may happen to go there.

Demonstration and Amplified Sound Permits - Application through the GPD if demonstration is a group of 10 or more, and/or PA system, speakers or megaphone are being used. If the event is for entertainment purposes (festival, block party, parades) an Event Permit will need to be applied for and will not require an amplified sound permit as it’s considered part of the event permit.
