Real-Time Information Center (RTIC)

Safety is a top priority for everyone in Greeley.

In 2024, the Greeley Police Department launched a program designed to shorten response times, reduce and solve crimes, and improve transparency. This program gives Greeley Police responders access to real-time information to help them respond to emergencies. It also helps them locate missing people or criminal suspects when needed.

A Single Center to Coordinate Resources

The Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) houses technology the city already uses — like drones, covert and overt camera feeds, and license plate readers — to sync video feeds of public spaces in Greeley.  Staff members combine these feeds with tools like computer-aided dispatch (CAD) to give first responders valuable information in an emergency.

The RTIC will not use live feeds from private cameras or facial recognition software.

Future Location Under Construction

For now, operations take place in a temporary location on Greeley’s west side. In 2025, the center will move into a permanent home next door to Greeley Police headquarters.

Protect and Serve a Growing Greeley

We expect Greeley’s population to double by 2060. With growth comes an increased need in staffing and resources. By using innovative technology, we can keep response times short and use resources where we need them most.

Ensuring Greeley is a safe and secure community to live, work and play is a City Council Vision priority.
