Founder's DayGo Back

Start: 7/20/2013 10:00 AM
End: 7/20/2013 2:00 PM
Location: Meeker Home Museum, 1324 9th Ave. Greeley

The Meeker Home Museum is hosting a party for the man who came west with colony settlers in 1870 to found the Union Colony of Colorado. When Nathan Meeker arrived that spring, he began construction on this house a half-mile from the center of the town which later became known as the city of Greeley. Admission is free.
This will be a day of old time revelry and celebration at the Meeker Home. Visitors can enjoy game of horseshoes, badminton, or graces as they would have been played over 100 years ago. Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic lunch and spread a blanket on the lawn to enjoy the good ol’ summertime of the past. A costumed tour guide will tell tales of the Meeker family and the uprising of the Ute Indians as visitors experience this remarkable historic two-story adobe home. Free old fashioned lemonade and cake will be served in the afternoon.
The home is open one Saturday of the month for public tours through October.
