Announcements: 2011 Greeley Garden Tour

2011 Greeley Garden Tour

The eighteenth Annual Greeley Garden Tour is on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The self-guided tour stops at several outstanding gardens around Greeley. The tour highlights some of the best gardens in the area and provides ideas for people to integrate into their own landscapes. Garden tour volunteers and property owners will be at each stop to guide visitors through each incredible garden. The guides will provide additional information on the plants and landscape.

The featured landscapes range from well established gardens to new plantings. Each landscape demonstrates how a yard can be tailored to fit the style and tastes of the homeowner. In addition, these gardens show how the families' outdoor activities and lifestyle can be considered into landscape design. Gardens on this year's tour feature native and xeric plants that provide beautiful color and texture. For the first time on the Garden Tour, one garden will feature a railroad train garden, with plants in the landscape in scale with the railroad. Gardens highlight “garden rooms”, raised beds, memory gardens and some unique species. Another new aspect will be local artists at each of the gardens, drawing and painting the beauty of the gardens. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.
