We strive to expose the community to a variety of media, artist styles and skill levels. Because of this, we have a variety of opportunities for artists throughout the year.

Sculpture on loan
In 1995, the Greeley Art Commission initiated the Sculpture on Loan Program with the placement of three pieces of art in the downtown area. This project has grown and currently over a dozen pieces are displayed each year.
At the end of each year the Greeley Art Commission solicits art pieces to be on display for the following year in our public areas and community parks. Artists lend their work for one year for a $700 honorarium.
Each year, when possible, we collect citizen input and purchase one or more sculptures to add to the permanent art collection. We now have over 100 sculptures in public places that have either been purchased by the City or donated.

Our current collection consists of over 300 works of indoor art and about 120 pieces of outdoor art that have been donated, gifted or purchased since 1967. We also encourage the donation of public art which is memorable, thought-provoking, enduring, and which can be located in a setting appropriate to the environment and the art form.
If you would like to donate art to the City of Greeley, please complete our Art Donation form.
