Best Places to Raise a Family in Colorado by HomeSnacksField of the Year Award: City of Greeley – Butch Butler Baseball The Greeley Parks Department has been honored with the 2019 Colorado Sports Turf Manager’s Association Field of the Year for the Butch Butler Baseball Complex. The award recognizes the Greeley Parks staff for their outstanding maintenance practices which allowed Butch Butler to maintain its beautiful aesthetics and durability while hosting more than 215 baseball games last year. 2019 was a great milestone year for Butch Butler Field as it celebrated its 50th Birthday and was recognized for the second time as the Colorado Sports Turf Manager’s Association Field of the Year. The previous award was won in 2004.

Districts must meet a rigorous set of minimum standards in order to achieve certification including recognition by local government, a high concentration of creative organizations and businesses, sustainable funding sources, paid staff, and a strategic plan. Greeley is one of 26 certified creative districts statewide.
Greeley Museums Silver Certificate: StEPs (Standards and Excellence Program)The City of Greeley Museums has received a silver certificate in the collections stewardship category of StEPs and has been officially renewed as an approved State repository for archaeological and paleontological collections by History Colorado. Team members met over multiple months to review collections procedures and draft new policies to guide the Museums in their continued efforts to achieve State and national standards.

high performing long-term care locations. U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 facilities throughout the country on criteria including nursing staff, health inspections, quality measures, and process of care.
University Softball Team: 3A State ChampionsCongratulations to the University softball team for winning their very first state championship. The Bulldogs finished their winning season 26-2 and also earned two All-State first-team recognitions for Kyra McFarland and Delaney Wieneke and honorable mention for Andy Padilla. And, not to be outdone, Coach Rocky Byrd was named as the CHSSA Class 3A Coach of the Year.

Greeley Evans School District 6 Graduation Rate Exceeds State Average
For the second year in a row, Greeley Evans School District 6 has exceeded the state average for the number of students graduating within four years of starting high school. The 2019 on-time graduation rate for District 6 is 81.7 percent, exceeding the state average of 81.1 percent. This is a significant increase over the 2017 graduation rate of 78.7 percent. Congratulations to the students and staff.
