Paul Tucker, Water Transmission/Distribution and Wastewater Collection Superintendent
In order to repair a water line break, the Greeley Water Department closed 11th Avenue between 11th and 12th streets.
To complete the repairs, crews need to get to the main water line in the center of 11th Avenue, hence the complete closure of the street.
Crews started work today and should have the break repaired by later this afternoon or evening. Then crews will put a steel plate in place and open the road so drivers can use it during the weekend.
The road is scheduled to close again Monday in order to patch and repair the road.
Signs are in place marking detour routes on 12th and 10th Avenues.
These sorts of closures are necessary to ensure the integrity of the city’s water infrastructure and the safety of the workers performing the repairs.
