2019 Memorial Day Program at Linn Grove Cemetery

Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave., will host its 2019 Memorial Day Program, rain or shine, Monday, May 27, at 9 a.m. For over 100 years, the staff at Linn Grove Cemetery, on behalf of and in conjunction with various Weld County Military Organizations, has honored veterans past and present with a formal Memorial Day ceremony.

“The Memorial Day program allows us all as a community the ability to reflect and recognize our service men and women, both past and present, who have protected our rights and freedoms through their sacrifices” said David Naill, cemetery manager.

Memorial-Day-at-Linn-Grove-Cemetery-Greeley-1Retired educator and patriot, Wilma Stovall Heckman, will deliver this year’s keynote address. The program will also feature local resident emcee Bob Bernd. Chad Young will provide patriotic music and the Greeley Police Department Honor Guard, along with numerous veterans’ organizations will participate in the annual ceremony as well. The program generally last just shy of one hour.

Weather permitting, Linn Grove will post the “Avenue of Flags” which consist of nearly 200 lost veterans donated casket flags along the main avenues of the grounds.
