Starting Monday, March 12, 20th Street between 23rd and 35th avenues will partially close and traffic will shift for five days while crews perform a potholing operation along the road.
An Atmos contractor needs to determine the depths of utility lines now in order to prepare for the installation of new gas lines in the area starting about the end of May.
During this work, the westbound lanes of 20th Street between 23rd and 35th avenues will completely close and all westbound traffic will shift into part of the eastbound lanes.
Officials anticipate the potholing operation, road closures, and traffic shift to finish Friday, March 16.
Detour signs, digital message boards, and other traffic control methods will be in place during the road closure and traffic shift.
