20th Street Roadwork Neighborhood Meeting
People who live near, or drive on, 20th Street between 83rd and 86th avenues can learn about the road’s upcoming five-month construction project during a neighborhood meeting at 5:30 p.m. March 5 at the Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Ave.
Greeley Public Works staff and the project consultants will inform residents about the project, its construction schedule and what drivers should expect during the roadwork.
The continuation of this Keep Greeley Moving project will widen 20th Street and add curbs, gutters, sidewalks, landscaping, a drainage system, and a new traffic signal. The process will also relocate the Xcel transmission power lines starting in May.
The project is tentatively scheduled to begin construction in June with the roadwork lasting about five months.
Expanding 20th Street will help ease traffic congestion near the expanding neighborhoods in west Greeley.
There will be times when construction will cause a total road closure of 20th Street to install large drainage features and reconstruct parts of 86th Avenue and the intersection at 83rd Avenue.
Some detours and partial road closures of both 20th Street and 83rd Avenue will occur during construction as crews move some dirt to backfill along the north side of 20th Street from 82th Avenue to 83rd Avenue.
