April History Hour Sessions Dive Into Untold Stories of the Holocaust
Don’t miss these impactful talks on April 10 and 24.
GREELEY, Colo. — The next installments of the History Hour series are on Thursday, April 10, and Thursday, April 24. Both sessions will feature the same presentation, Holocaust 101, by Dr. Joan Clinefelter. Dr. Clinefelter teaches Modern European History at the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Clinefelter will talk about lesser-known parts of the Nazis’ genocide of European Jews. She will also discuss the Nazis’ plans for the future after the war and the role of Auschwitz in those plans. All questions are welcome.
The April 10 presentation is sponsored by the Holocaust Memorial Observances of Northern Colorado. It will take place from noon-1 p.m. at the LINC Library, 501 8th Avenue.
The April 24 presentation will also be held from noon-1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Street.
About the Presenter
Joan Clinefelter has served as a professor of Modern European History in the University of Northern Colorado’s History Department since 1995. She earned her BA at Grinnell College and her MA and PhD at Indiana University. She is the author of one book and many articles, most recently “The Patriarchy Is Finished: Broadcasting Women’s Emancipation on RIAS Berlin,” published in Oxford University’s German History in December 2024.
