Can You Say Fangalangus?


The Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., offers a magical escape from reality in the production of “Fangalangus Island,” performed by OpenStage Theatre & Co. on Friday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. Children and those young at heart will be inspired by this original dance theatre production.

The wonderful production of “Fangalangus Island” has been shown throughout Colorado and nationwide. An original dance theatre production, it stresses the importance of creativity to a child's sense of being. The island of Fangalangus is home to several intriguing characters including: Queen Eugenia, the Quitaberry Fairies, the Trolicks – who are captivated by hair, and the brothers Treeman – an eleven foot talking tree and Shrumann – a short talking mushroom. When a man named Jake arrives at the island, he finds himself caught up in this world and attempting to defeat the Imagination Crushing Gray Fog that threatens to destroy the island. Working together to save Fangalangus Island, Jake and these amusing islanders must discover the three keys that will allow for pure imagination to be propelled into the air, thereby destroying the imagination crushing gray fog.
