Celebrate Preservation Excellence: Nominate a Historic Preservation Champion
GREELEY, Colo. — The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission asks residents to nominate people or projects for the Historic Preservation Month Awards. The awards honor individuals, groups, and businesses that have helped to protect and improve Greeley’s historic buildings and sites.
To nominate someone or a project, use the nomination form available from the Historic Preservation Office. Residents can call 970-350-9222 or email hpo@greeleygov.com to get the form.
Nominations are due by noon on Thursday, April 3. Please mail or deliver complete nomination forms to the Historic Preservation Office at 1100 10th Street, Greeley, CO 80631, or email them to hpo@greeleygov.com.
Historic Preservation Month Awards
The commission will review all nominations and announce the winners at a Historic Preservation Month event. The event will take place at the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center at Warnoco, located at 1407 2nd Street, on Monday, May 19, at 5 p.m.
The event is free and open to everyone.
Last year, the winners were:
- The Boys and Girls Club of Weld County for restoring the Warnoco Building.
- Jeff and Kelly Cook for turning the old Trinity Lutheran Church into a new office and co-working space called The Ambry.
- Mile High Stucco for fixing the outside of the Midnight Oil Bookstore Building.
