City of Greeley Posts their 2018 National Gold Medal Awards Finalist Video
As part of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Gold Medal finalist requirements, the city of Greeley prepared a five-minute video emphasizing items in the award application for which the City became a finalist in the Class III Agency Recognition category for populations of 75,001 through 150,000.
The video is posted at PlayGreeley.com, the main information portal for the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, there is a link from the Culture, Parks and Recreation department logo at the bottom of the city’s main page.
Founded in 1965, the Gold Medal Awards Program honors communities in the U.S. that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition. Applications are separated into seven classes, with five classes based on population, one class for armed forces recreation and one class for state park systems awarded on odd numbered years.
The six Grand Plaque recipients will be announced live during the NRPA General Session at the 2018 NRPA Annual Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, Sept. 25–27, 2018.
