Community Information Session on Potential Camping Restrictions Related to Homelessness
GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley invites the community to an information session on camping restrictions. This session will be on February 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the LINC Library, located at 501 8th Avenue.
The session will cover the proposed camping restrictions. It will also discuss how these changes might impact public spaces. Staff from Homeless Solutions, Greeley Police, Public Works, and the City Attorney’s Office will speak.
Attendees will:
- Learn how the proposed restrictions fit within existing laws.
- Understand how enforcement would work and the roles of various city departments.
- Explore strategies and resources to keep public spaces safe and accessible for all.
- Gain insight into the complex factors that contribute to homelessness.
- Share input to help shape the final decisions on possible restrictions.
"It’s important for residents to understand policies that could impact our community," said Mandy Shreve from the Homeless Solutions Department. "We welcome public input and urge everyone to join in—either by attending in person or sharing thoughts online."
Starting February 19, residents can go to SpeakUpGreeley.com. There they can take a short survey and share their thoughts.
After February 25, a video recording of the presentation will be available on the Speak Up page.
