Drug Take-Back Day on October 27

Drug-Take-Back-Day

Residents are urged to take advantage of three free locations at which to safely dispose of drugs on Saturday, October 27th as the police departments of Greeley, Evans and UNC  team up to  provide sites for drop off of unused or expired medications.  The following sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.for drop-off of medications:

  • Greeley Police Headquarters, 2875 10th Street, Greeley
  • University Center, 2101 10th Avenue, Greeley
  • Sam’s Club parking lot, 3247 23rd Avenue, Evans

This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue.  Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.  Disposing of old medications by flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash pose other potential safety and health hazards to area water supplies and the environment.

Not accepted are needles or sharps, mercury, oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters or illegal drugs.
