Join City of Greeley Forestry staff for a free, family-friendly Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 29, at 9 a.m., at Sherwood Park, located at the 2800 block of 13th St. The event features a brief ceremony and an opportunity to help plant new trees in the park. There will also be light refreshments and a free seedling giveaway.
This year, the City of Greeley will be named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 37th consecutive year. To qualify as a Tree City USA, a city must meet four standards established by the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters. These standards were established to ensure that every qualifying community would have a viable tree management program.
