Greeley Active Adult Center hosts Open House to Showcase Programs and 50+ Options
The Greeley Active Adult Center (GAAC) will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, August 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. to promote 50+ programs and membership offers. Active adult members who join receive free daily admission, discounts on most programs, priority registration for trips, parking permits, a monthly newsletter and more!
“We’ve recently changed our name to reflect options for all active adult members, those working and retired, that offer not only social opportunities but educational as well. We have many choices for group sports, exercise, local and international travel. We want to highlight what we offer,” said the Greeley Active Adult Center Supervisor, Tiffany Skoglund. “An Open House was the perfect opportunity to showcase all there is to do here and a good time to get a guided tour. We’ll have demonstrations including Shuffleboard, Billiards, Ceramics, Lapidary, Wood Shop; vendor booths featuring financial assistance, home health, independent & assisted living options, the Sunshine Band, Friendly Fork Nutrition Services and Keenage Singers, just to name a few. Refreshments will be served as well, so people can relax and visit.”
The Greeley Active Adult Center is located at 1010 6th Street in downtown Greeley. They offer a variety of activities including sports like volleyball and softball, hiking and cross country skiing, classes, a Wellness Foundation program where you can get a massage and acupuncture. There are special events and even lunch twice a week. “There’s so much to do here and it’s a great place to meet new friends,” said Alex, one of their volunteers. “I even help with computer classes and their web site! It gives me the opportunity to give back to the community GreeleyActiveAdultCenter.com.
