Greeley’s Culture, Parks and Recreation is on a Winning Path
The City of Greeley Culture Parks and Recreation Department has been the recipient of multiple awards during the past month.
The three awards received are as follows. The National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Gold Medal Finalist Class III for populations 75,001 – 150,000 which recognizes excellence in the field of parks and recreation nationwide. The Colorado Open Space Alliance (COSA)–Blue Gramma Award for managing natural areas naturally as an example of the best in local management of open spaces, innovation and organizational leadership. The Colorado Parks & Recreation Association (CPRA) Columbine Award for innovation, best practices and creative ideas in the parks and recreation field.
“We are ecstatic to have received all three awards in one year,” commented Eric Bloomer, Greeley’s Park Superintendent. “Everyone in the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department should feel pride in the work we do as a team, and under the leadership of Andy McRoberts, our Department Director.” “Each of us has contributed one way or another to these accomplishments,” concluded Bloomer.
All three awards will be shared with the rest of the Culture, Parks and Recreation Department staff at their next all staff meeting.
