Greeley’s Outdoor Pools and Splash Parks Open for the Season

DU7A4527

The City of Greeley’s outdoor pools and splash parks officially open Saturday, May 29.

Greeley’s largest outdoor pool, Centennial Pool, 2315 Reservoir Rd., includes a splash pad with spray features, a diving board, 12-foot drop slide into a diving well, and a water slide. The pool opens every day in the summer, noon to 5 p.m. Lap swimming for ages 14 and older is available from 10 a.m. until noon. Officials highly encourage reservations for lap swim due to limited capacity.

Discovery Bay Waterpark, 715 E. 24th St., located in east Greeley, Features a one-of-a-kind dinosaur play structure custom designed specifically for Greeley. In addition, the waterpark includes a splash pad, zero-depth area, lazy river, a water slide and more. Discovery Bay opens daily noon to 5 p.m.

Admission to Centennial Pool and Discovery Bay costs $4 for youth and seniors, $5 adults and $1.50 for children 5 and under, accompanied by an adult. Both outdoor pools offer a 10-punch youth and senior pass option for $32 and $40 for adults. Purchase passes at the Greeley Recreation Center, Family FunPlex, Discovery Bay Waterpark or Centennial Pool.

Greeley has two free splash park locations, Island Grove Splash Park, 302 N. 14th Ave. and Sunrise Splash Park, 325 12th St.  These free splash parks do not require reservations.

City officials highly encourage participants to arrive “swim ready,” showering prior and already dressed in appropriate swim attire. Visitors should bring adequate water and hand sanitizer. Officials encourage all visitors to wear a mask and practice social distancing at the pools. Anyone with COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms — fever, cough, or shortness of breath — should not enter or use city facility.

Swim lessons are available for youth 6-months to 15-years. Register for classes at greeleyrec.com/swim-lessons. The registration deadline for the first session is May 28.

Greeley Recreation also needs lifeguards. The next lifeguard training session is scheduled for the weekend of June 18-20. Register at greeleyrec.com/lifeguard-training by June 16.
