Maintenance of Centennial Park Facilities Requires Temporary Loss of Electricity at Park

Centennial Park will lose electric power for several days at the end of February while crews perform maintenance on the park’s electrical transformer.

The loss of electricity will affect the entire park and include the lights in tennis courts and parking lot.

Officials expect the loss of electricity to last at least four days as work crews repair the concrete around the park's electric transformer.

The construction progress and weather will determine the exact schedule of the loss of electric power, however, officials anticipate the electric transformer work should begin between Feb. 26 and March 2.

Over time the concrete around the park’s electrical transformer has deteriorated. Crews will repair and replace the concrete to ensure the park’s amenities continue functioning for residents and users.

Although construction and maintenance activities will continue into May, the park’s electricity should be restored within one week of disruption of service.
