Louie Salazar, a Greeley resident and member of the Greeley Active Adult Center, competed in the Valley World International Eight Ball tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. This wasn’t Salazar’s first trip to this event, he has placed as high as 2^nd and 3^rd place in years past. This year he was honored to bring home one of the 2019 World Championship trophies. 

Salazar participated in the 60 and older age category; there were four competitive brackets in that age group to begin the tournament play May 24 through 27. The top four players in each bracket then advanced to a bracket of sixteen. Salazar finished the tournament in 4^th place out of 126 players overall.

Salazar practices billiards regularly at the Greeley Active Adult Center located at 1010 6^th Street in Greeley. He’s been a member at the Active Adult Center for years, and often plays tournaments throughout Colorado. Salazar was inducted into the Valley National Eight Ball Association in 1995 and enjoys playing the sport.

The Greeley Active Adult Center offers a Billiards & Pool Club that meets daily, in addition to many other opportunities for their members to engage in outdoor and indoor sports and activities.
