Sunrise Splash Park Closed for Summer Construction of Improvements to Charlie & Laura Archibeque Park

Charlie & Laura Archibeque Park will receive a new bathroom and park shelter this year for residents to enjoy.

To make these improvements possible, Sunrise Splash Park, located in Archibeque Park, will close this spring and summer in order to construct the new park amenities.

Archibeque Park’s existing bathroom will get replaced by a larger, and more functional, shelter and concrete pad with more room for picnics, parties, and other events. The existing changing rooms, remnants from when the park had a pool, will get demolished and replaced with a modern bathroom building.

Demolition of the existing facilities is planned to start during the first week of April

DSC_0490The work will require the closure of the splash park for the safety of residents and park users, however, other parks amenities including the playground and open spaces will remain open during this construction. Additional construction improvements planned for later this year include a new irrigation system and playground replacement.

Residents are encouraged to visit Island Grove Splash park located at 302 N 14th Avenue during the Archibeque Park construction.
