Woodbriar Park Renovation Celebration: August 4
Join us for playtime, refreshments, art dedication and more at Woodbriar Park on Saturday, August 4 beginning at 10 a.m.
Improvements include looped walking trails, nature play areas, sand volleyball, restroom, and shelter facility, and restoration of Cottonwood Creek. Other features include water-saving grasses, new vegetation, more than 50 newly planted trees, and areas for interactive sand play. All this and still some room for a neighborhood game of soccer or football.
A new art plaza in the park reveals Greeley’s water history. This art feature was funded by Greeley’s 1% for Art and the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area.
Another benefit to this park improvement is that it will reduce neighborhood flooding. More than 1.6 million gallons of stormwater detention is incorporated into the design to hold water during significant rainstorms.
Last year, the city received feedback from the community and the neighborhood on what features they would like to see in this renovated park. The community input guided and informed the final park design. Construction began in December of 2017.
