Greeley’s Water Conservation program is once again offering its popular Landscape Lecture Series 2017. The goal of the workshops is to promote sustainable landscape practices in the community. Each event is scheduled on a Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. The location for all events is the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th Avenue.
The first workshop is, Xeriscape Basics on January 18. This class will get you started on water-efficient landscaping. Learn the seven principles of Xeriscape and the best ways for incorporating them into your yard. The presenter for this lecture is Ruth Quade, City of Greeley Water Conservation Coordinator.
The topics and dates for the future workshops are:
February 1 - Healthy Tree Selection, Planting and Care
February 15 - How to Deal with Early Spring Weeds
March 1 - Lawn Choices, Installation and Rejuvenation
March 15 - How to Stay Within Your Water Budget
Additional lectures are being planned for April, May and June. Dates and topics will be announced in the near future.
