Landscape Workshops Offered in Greeley: March 23 and 26

The City of Greeley is offering free landscape workshops for homeowners. These workshops will help residents learn proper do-it-yourself landscape care. Both workshops, is the same material presented two times, and will be held at the Greeley Recreation Center at 651 10th Avenue. The Saturday morning workshop will be held on March 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The second workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Topics covered include Greeley’s landscape requirements, water wise landscaping, plant selection, proper soil preparation, new lawn installation, and efficient lawn watering. In addition, attendees will receive landscape giveaways, and an opportunity to win prizes that will help them revamp their yards, including a Garden-In-A Box, an outdoor water conservation kit, Xeriscape books, and much more.

A well-maintained landscape has many benefits.  It can raise property values, keep homes cooler in the summer, and help reduce air and water pollution.  It is also a way for citizens to do their part in beautifying Greeley’s neighborhoods and conserve water in a semi arid climate.

This event is a partnership of several City of Greeley Departments and Divisions including Water Conservation, Code Compliance, Neighborhood Resources, Forestry, and Stormwater.
