Landscape Code Update

The Community Development and Water Departments are working on plans to make sure that Greeley can maintain healthy landscapes and reduce irrigation demand. That is why the City of Greeley is updating landscape codes.

More than half of Greeley’s water is used to keep lawns green. Greeley has only limited water resources available for future growth. Greeley’s urban forest and high quality landscaping are one of her greatest assets but there is a need to conserve water by reducing irrigation demand.

While Greeley has adequate water to meet the permanent needs of its existing citizens and businesses and water to meet the needs of people and businesses who will move here before the mid-2030s, there is a need to plan ahead to meet the needs of those who will move here after that time.
