November and December Volunteer Opportunities

Get involved and make the holidays a little bit brighter. Here are also several volunteer opportunities that you are invited to take part.

Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America at Linn Grove Cemetery and sponsor a wreath for $15. Wreaths will be placed on December 16 beginning at 10 a.m. Please check in with the Chris Ruth, location coordinator if you are interested in helping at waalinngrove@gmail.com.


Santa Cops
Santa cops is a nonprofit organization, combined of law enforcement agencies in Weld County to provide Christmas gifts to children that wouldn’t receive a gift without Santa Cops. This program is also in place to create a bond between children and their local law enforcement. Volunteer opportunities would be toy drives, money donations and wrapping or packaging groups. Sign-up online to volunteer. Contact Officer Rebecca Ries at 970-351-5387 with questions.   

Community Christmas Party
Call us to come wrap gifts and volunteer for local kids at the Rodarte Community Center’s 28th Annual Community Christmas Party.  Please call Brecken Arnold at 970-350-9771 to volunteer and get more information.

  • Tuesday, November 28 • 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, November 29 • 10 a.m. to noon

  • Thursday, November 30 • 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Tuesday, December 5 • 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, December 6 • 8 a.m. to noon

  • Thursday, December 7 • 5 to 7 p.m.

Community Christmas Party

General and Ongoing Opportunities

Boards and Commissions
Boards and Commissions are groups of citizen volunteers that study special community issues and provide direction, comment and recommendations to the City Council. These 24 groups are the voice of the community; they influence public policy and programming decisions that can affect the entire city.  Check back each month to see what are the current vacancies. 

City Council Meetings
Public input, without advance registration, is accepted at regular City Council meetings. Speakers are limited to 3 minutes each. The meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at School District Six Board of Education Meeting Room 1025 9th Avenue
