Greeley City government and the Greeley City Council recognize that employees are the greatest asset to making Greeley “A City Achieving Community Excellence.” In an effort to continually improve our organization and our community, City administration partnered with HUMANeX Ventures for the 3rd annual Employee Culture Survey.
I was very pleased when 726 of our employees participated in the survey—that is an 83% response rate and an increase from the 75% participation in 2015. Of the most recent responses, an impressive 66% are highly satisfied and engaged in the work they do for Greeley and its residents. Many decades of research have shown that employees who are happy, satisfied and suited to their jobs are more productive, stable and engaged. Our results show the positive investment and engagement the City of Greeley staff has in their work.
Departments, divisions and work groups all participated in post-survey feedback sessions where employees were able to see their survey results. These sessions included discussion and brainstorming to continue developing an organizational culture that encourages and rewards efficiency, relationship building, meaningful recognition and more.
The survey and the post-survey meetings are examples of how we are applying the City’s core values: Applied Wisdom, Excellence, Accountability, Stewardship, Principled Relationships and Integrity.
Enjoy the holidays knowing that City of Greeley employees are committed to making Greeley a great place to live, work, learn and play.
