Rankings and Recognitions

We like to recognize all the things that make Greeley a thriving community: student athletic and academic achievements; positive partnerships between businesses and schools; national rankings; and local, state and national awards earned by our non-profit, civic, business and government workers.

These recognitions aren't a pat on the back from locals to locals; rather, they're awards and kudos given from outside the community to those in Greeley who deserve it.

DowntownGreeley-BOTBWalletHub Ranks Greeley 30th Fastest Growing Cities in the Nation
WalletHub ranked Greeley 30th on their “Fastest Growing Cities in the Nation” list of mid-sized cities. The list compared 256 cities across the United States. 

Milken Institute Ranks Greeley 43rd Best-Performing Cities Index

The Milken Institute’s 2021 Best-Performing Cities report was recently released. Greeley ranked 43rd out of 400 cities nationally. Greeley was also in the top 50 in last year’s list. The 2021 version of the Index emphasizes jobs, wages, high-tech growth, housing affordability, and household broadband access. In the area of job growth, Greeley ranked 5th nationally.

Weld Food Bank  No Kid Hungry Campaign Grant 
The Weld Food Bank is one of seven Colorado organizations selected to receive grant money from the
No Kid Hungry Campaign by Share Our Strength. The grant allows the organization to provide 6,000 food packages through its weekend backpack program. 

Weldwerks “Juicy Bits” - Top Beer in Colorado 
Popular website Thrillist and their team of expert beer writers have selected Weldwerks ‘Juicy Bits’ New England-style IPA in their top 3 best beers in Colorado. Congrats!

2021 Female Leader of the Year:  Cesar Chavez Peace & Justice Committee
Congratulations to Rhonda Solis for being named the 2021 Female Leader of the Year by the Cesar Chavez Peace and Justice Committee of Denver. Rhonda was recognized for her work with Latinos Unidos of Greeley, Hispanic Women of Weld County, Latino Coalition of Weld County and for her role on the Greeley-Evans District 6 Board of Education.

University of Northern Colorado: Big Sky MVP – Women’s Basketball
A shout out to University of Northern Colorado sophomore basketball player, Alisha Davis, for being named the 2020/2021 Big Sky MVP. She was the only player to average a double-double throughout the season and led the conference in both scoring and rebounds per game. Alisha is also a three-time winner of the conference Player of the Week award. Go Bears!

University of Northern Colorado: Western Athletic Conference – Swimmer of the Week
Northern Colorado swimmer, Anna Austin, earned her second Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week award this season.

Greeley West High School: CASB Art Show and Contest Blue Ribbon
Kudos to Greeley West senior Aili Gibson. She was awarded a blue ribbon by the Colorado Association of School Boards at the state CASB Art Show and Contest.
