One of our water plant operators, Cayetano Perez, shared the following poem his wife, Gina, wrote that celebrates the hard work of Greeley’s water & sewer employees and all water professionals.

THIRST FOR APPRECIATION

The sparkling liquid that flows through the world’s veins
Fills its lakes and its seas
From the heavens it rains

Sustaining all the earth’s life, quenching thirst beyond measure
Our water, a gift
An eternal treasure

Yet each day passes with little consideration
For the unlikely Hero
Who’s life’s work, water filtration

For upon these wise shoulders rests our well-being and hearts-ease
They take this in stride, displaying poise and expertise

Very few understand the responsibility or stress
Of the Water Treatment Operator
Constantly giving their best

For your hard work and care, appreciation is garnered
A salute from the heart…
